Nintendo, Sony y Microsoft están siendo investigados por la Competition and Markets Authority con relación a los contratos de Juego en Línea. En general, se mencionan tres aspectos de esta investigación:
- Los Términos y Condiciones de los Contratos en Línea.
- Qué tan fácil es recibir el dinero al momento de Cancelar una Pre-Venta en Línea.
- Y si es que las suscripciones de Paga automática envían notificaciones de renovación y en qué frecuencia.
Andrea Coscelli, director ejecutivo de CMA, comenta lo siguiente:
“Roll-over contracts are becoming more and more commonplace and its essential that they work well for customers. Our investigation will look into whether the biggest online gaming companies are being fair with their customers when they automatically renew their contracts, and whether people can easily cancel or get a refund. Should we find that the firms aren’t treating people fairly under consumer protection law, we are fully prepared to take action.”
